Eattiamo supports Made in Italy, more than ever!
2020 HAS STARTED WITH A WISE LESSON:
“THE OTHERS” ARE US
We live in a continuous acceleration and chaos. We live in a global world that has no borders any longer. And yet this has lots of positive sides - as we can share the best of us, the best of every country, it also generates new ingredients and factors we have to learn living with.
In just seven days, life and everyday routine of people living in Italy has completely changed. This special moment we are living now, full of anomalies and paradox, makes us think a lot: in our consumer society, where working 12 hours a day is not seen as a crazy thing, where we continue running for we-don’t-know-what, where it has become difficult to spend time with people we care, everything has been STOPPED. And this forced pause has put us in front of our fears, of our doubts, of our weaknesses: finally, we have time to think about time’s value.
In a social and political moment where we think we are superior to other countries or populations, virus remember us we are ALL equal. No matter the gender, the origin or the money we have on the bank account. In a world where our relations have become social and Facebook likes have taken the place of hugs, we are suddenly constrained to maintain a distance with everybody, even our family and especially with those that are more vulnerable – our grandparents, our ill loved ones. No more kisses, handshakes or hugs.
In this particular moment, we from Eattiamo have received lot of calls from the Italian local producers we work with every day. They are worried and willing to know how the situation in the United States is and which is our point of view regarding the future months. We believe staying united is important to fight against uncertainty and fear: that’s why Eattiamo will continue bringing best Italian food delicacies to the tables of American families. We have taken all the safety measures needed for this unusual situation and will continue working with passion and optimism to support local economies.
We’ll soon come back to “normality”, but we’ll never forget what virus is teaching us, at a very high price.
Stay safe & help us spreading the voice and supporting Made in Italy.
